1st October 2007 - SAD Harmonisation began
The Single Administrative Document (SAD), more commonly known as the 'C88' or 'Customs entry' has changed. Although it did not officially come into force until 1st January 2008, your Customs clearing agent was able to submit the new type entry as of the 1st October 2007.
1st January 2008 - AEO begins
Applications began on the 1st of July 2007 and those early companies who qualify by Jan 1st 2008, can begin reaping the rewards associated with the AEO status.
1st January 2009 - Electronic declarations
The much talked about Customs paperless system is planned for launch on 1st January 2009.
