What is it?
SAD Harmonisation is a major step by the EU towards harmonising the rules for completion of the SAD (Single Administrative Document) across all EU member states.
.............................................................................................................
The implementation date for the UK was 1st January 2008, however, a cross-over period began on the 1st October 2007, which meant that your clearing agent was able to submit declarations in the new format.
For a more detailed explanation of these changes, visit: www.ukimports.org or email us enquiries@aeo-info.eu
How will it affect me?
Even if you use a thrid party (e.g. a freight forwarder / Customs agent) for your Customs declarations, as an exporter or importer you are still responsible for the accuracy of information on the declaration.
Are shipping costs going to rise because of these changes?
At this moment in time neither Customs or any of the port authorities have given any indication of any prices increases.
If your clearing agent advises you different, please conatct us.
